Stephens has been struggling for form since 2019, and she would hope this tournament where she has already notched up three consecutive wins helps her get back into form. Stephens beat Qualifier Wang Xinyu in the first round, got the better of eighth seed and long time rival Madison Keys in the second, and defeated Ajla Tomljanović in the third.
