She has also lost to players like Anastasia Gasanova, who are ranked well outside the top 200. Her last good outing was at the Italian Open 2020, where she reached the finals.

In the just concluded Qatar Open she lost in the Quarter Finals to Jessica Pegula, 3-6 1-6. Her second round opponent is Anastasija Sevastova. Sevastova has also struggled for form, but she did beat Caroline Garcia at the Adelaide International.

Sevastova is coming off a Quarter Final appearance at the Adelaide International. This match is difficult to call and could go either way. Pliskova might scrap through.
