Jabeur has a lot of talent, but hasn’t been able to replicate that into performances. She was unlucky to face the eventual champion Naomi Osaka in the third round of the Australian Open. In the Qatar Open she lost a match in three sets against Karolina Pliskova, on another day she could have won that match too.

A little surprisingly Jabeur seems to not play her best tennis in the middle eastern tournaments. Her most notable performance post lockdown has been reaching the fourth round of the French Open 2020. In the first round of the Dubai Open she beat Kateřina Siniaková 6-2 6-3. Her second round opponent is Elena Rybakina.

Rybakina too is coming off disappointments at both the Australian Open 2020 and the Qatar Open after that. In the Australian Open she was ousted by Fiona Ferro 4-6 4-6, and in the Qatar Open she lost to Laura Siegemund 6-7 6-7. In the first round at the Dubai Open Rybakina defeated Zheng Saisai 6-0 6-4.
