Iga Swiatek has dominated the season with her fine performances. She came to Australia early and participated in the Adelaide International 1 tournament. Here, she was knocked out in the semi-finals by Ashleigh Barty.

The Polish then featured in the Australian Open but was defeated by Danielle Collins. She then went on to win Qatar Open, Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Tennis Grand Prix, Italian Open, and French Open. Her winning rail was stopped by Alize Cornet at Wimbledon when she defeated the Polish star in straight sets.

She then won the US Open by defeating Ons Jabeur in the final. This is her second Grand Slam title this year and in her career. She subsequently defeated Donna Vekic to win the San Diego Open.

Coco Gauff is one of the finds of modern professional tennis this year. Despite having a poor run this season, the French tennis star managed to win 3 WTA doubles titles with fellow American Jessica Pegula. Although she struggled to score big at the beginning of 2022, the 18-year-old stunned the world when she reached the final of both the women’s singles and doubles events of the French Open.

She was knocked out of the tournament by Qiang Wang in the first rounds itself.
