Aryna Sabalenka vs. Coco Gauff: Match Preview
Aryna Sabalenka has clinched the most titles this season on the women’s tour. She has claimed four trophies from the same number of finals, playing the championship clashes of the Australian Open, French Open, and the US Open, winning only at Flushing Meadows.

After her emphatic start to the season at the Brisbane International, Sabalenka was denied a three-peat in the Major Down Under by Madison Keys. The four-time Grand Slam singles champion then struggled on the Middle East swing but got back to winning ways during the Sunshine Doubles event, losing at Indian Wells to Mirra Andreeva and winning the Miami Open to Jessica Pegula.
Sabalenka then played two consecutive finals at the Stuttgart Open and the Madrid Open, losing the former to Jelena Ostapenko and winning the latter by defeating Coco Gauff. After losing the quarterfinal of the Italian Open to Qinwen Zheng, Sabalenka suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Gauff in the French Open final.
Sabalenka lost in the semifinals of both the events she played on the grass swing, and when the North American swing started, she failed to defend her Cincinnati Open title. At the US Open, however, Sabalenka finally ended her title drought, beating Amanda Anisimova to defend her title.
Gauff had a slow start earlier this year, but as the season progressed and the clay swing started, she ended up playing three finals. Apart from the Madrid Open and French Open, she also reached the final of the Italian Open but failed to beat home favorite Jasmine Poalini.
The 21-year-old next failed to win a set in the two grass-court tournaments she played and didn’t do well on the North American hard court swing. She then couldn’t defend her China Open title, losing in the semifinal to eventual champion Anisimova. At the Wuhan Open, she defeated Jessica Pegula in the final.
Aryna Sabalenka vs. Coco Gauff: Match Prediction
In their previous round robin matches, Sabalenka defeated Paolini and Pegula. Gauff suffered defeat at the hands of Pegula but was successful in beating Paolini.

While Gauff is playing the WTA Finals as the defending champion, Sabalenka has never tasted success in the event. She was the runner-up in 2022, losing the match to Caroline Garcia. Last year, Gauff knocked out the 27-year-old in the last four en route to the win.
The two-time Grand Slam singles champion holds a 6-5 head-to-head edge over Sabalenka. This year, they have met twice, with both winning a match each.
Match prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to win in three sets.
