The WTA Finals are around the corner, and the schedule for the event is already out. Coco Gauff will enter the tournament as the defending champion.
Last year, Gauff went past 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist Qinwen Zheng in the final to clinch the year-end championships for the first time in her career. This year’s event will kick off on November 1, and among other round robin matches, Iga Swiatek will be clashing with Madison Keys.
In the round-robin stage, Swiatek and Keys will also lock horns with Amanda Anisimova and Elena Rybakina. These players are part of Group Serena Williams. The players in Group Steffi Graf are: Aryna Sabalenka, Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Jasmine Paolini. The winner will earn 1,500 ranking points. If Swiatek wins, it won’t be enough to dethrone Sabalenka.

Iga Swiatek vs. Madison Keys: Match Preview
Madison Keys started the season at the Adelaide International and ended it by defeating compatriot Jessica Pegula. She continued her winning ways at the Australian Open and, en route to denying Aryna Sabalenka a three-peat, Keys knocked out Iga Swiatek in a thrilling semifinal.

Since then, however, the 30-year-old has won no titles. She made deep runs in quite a few tournaments but failed to reach a final.
Before Riyadh, Keys played the US Open, where she suffered a shock first-round exit at the hands of Renata Zarazua. She then missed the entire Asian Swing because of a shoulder injury. Swiatek, on the other hand, was dealing with a slump in form earlier this season. She was making deep runs but failed to reach a final until the grass season.
Swiatek, undoubtedly the best clay-court player on the WTA Tour at present, could not reach a final in the four tournaments she played on the surface, including the French Open, which she lifted four times and was the three-time defending champion.
But on the grass swing, Swiatek surprised the tennis world when she reached the final of the Bad Homburg Open. Though she failed to end the event in her favor with a straight-set defeat to Pegula, she left the tennis community in awe by double-bageling Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon final.
Swiatek clinched her next title at the Cincinnati Open with a straight-set win over two-time Grand Slam singles finalist Jasmine Paolini. She then fulfilled a family dream when she overcame Ekaterina Alexandrova in the Korea Open final.
The 24-year-old played three tournaments on the Asian swing, the last being the Wuhan Open, where Paolini got her revenge by breezing past the six-time Grand Slam champion in the quarterfinals.
Iga Swiatek vs. Madison Keys: Match Prediction
Swiatek is just one of the two among the eight qualified players to have lifted the WTA Finals. She ended the 2023 season by winning the year-end championships with a straight-set victory over Pegula. Keys has not yet reached the semifinals of the WTA Finals. In 2016, she played the round robin stage.

Swiatek will enter the tournament as one of the favorites to win. In her head-to-head matchups, she holds a 5-2 lead over Keys, last meeting her in the quarterfinals of this year’s Madrid Open, which she won.
Match prediction: Iga Swiatek to win in three sets.
