Azarenka started the hard court leg of the season with a Final appearance at the US Open. Post that, her results have not been that good and rather erratic. A first round exit at the Australian Open was followed by a Semi-final appearance at the Qatar Open.

Azarenka has been hampered by a bad back injury, and that injury forced her to give a walkover in the Qatar Open. Her last match was at the Miami Open, where she lost to Ash Barty in the round of sixteen.
