Kovinic has started the clay court leg of the season on a fantastic note. She reached the Finals of the Charleston Open. En route to the finals she beat a whole host of big names including Petra Kvitova in the round of sixteen, Yulia Putintseva in the Quarter-final, and Ons Jabeur in the Semi-finals. Unfortunately for Kovinic she got beaten in the final by Veronika Kudermetova.
