Rogers has not been playing that badly but somehow she doesn’t have the results to show for it. In the just concluded Charleston Open, she had a great victory over thirteenth seed Amanda Anisimova in the second round. But in the very next round, she was pitted against the no.1 seed and no.1 player in the world, Ash Barty. Rogers to her credit, fought hard and took the match into the third set, but eventually lost 6-7 6-4 4-6.

In the Charleston 2, her first round opponent is fellow American Caty McNally. McNally is only nineteen and still learning her trade on the tour, in Singles. Her best finish this season has been reaching the Quarter-finals of the Abierto de Guadalajara, where she lost to Eugenie Bouchard. In the Charleston Open, she had reached the round of sixteen, where she was beaten by Paula Badosa 6-3 6-3.
