Sasha Banks, aka Mercedes Mone, was among the four Horsewomen of the WWE Women’s Division. She pioneered the Women’s Revolution that seemingly started back in 2016. However, she arrived at a creative roadblock with the same Stamford-based company and decided to leave it in 2022. Since then, a lot has changed within WWE and it seems even Banks was attracted by this change and had planned for a comeback.
However, recent reports reveal that the talks between the Boss and WWE did exist. Unfortunately, they broke off once there came a significant disagreement over the issue of money. Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio recently commented on the situation. It seems the 31-year-old took her Mone moniker seriously.

She (Mercedes Monè) was absolutely negotiating with WWE. From what I was told, they were far apart on money. There is one person in WWE who said, like, ‘Until she shows up and until you hear she signed a contract, just remember what happened with (CM) Punk.Dave Meltzer on Sasha Banks via Wrestling Observer Radio
It seems the Veteran news reporter has once again left the possibilities open. While he highlighted the dying of ongoing talks, he also left the possibility of resuming them. Especially, with Triple H at the helm, things have been quite unpredictable for the promotion lately.
To add weight to the possibility, he recalled the conflicting reports of talks that existed in the case of CM Punk. The rest became history once the Second City Saint graced the Chicago audience at Survivor Series 2023.
Exploring possibilities around Mercedes Mone making AEW Debut
As the legends of the business predicted, 2024 is already taking shape into the year of big wrestling developments. While WOR recently cleared the air around Sasha Banks trying for a comeback to WWE, it seems AEW hasn’t given up on the hopes of acquiring her services yet.

There certainly is a lot of talk of her in AEW. We will see what happens.Dave Meltzer on Sasha Banks’ talks in AEW
As can be inferred, the book hasn’t been closed yet. Many had speculated that she would make her debut at AEW Worlds End, but it did not happen. It seems the 31-year-old star is playing with the limelight as she weighs her options for 2024.
Her ability to drop teasers in the past and keep the deals close to her vest have been key. She has already been receiving tremendous offers. It would be interesting to see which promotion will sign the former multi-time women’s champion.
