After a hiatus of almost two years, Alexa Bliss had her WWE return mapped out. However, the plans were dropped at the eleventh hour.

In a new development, it’s been learned that WWE had Alexa Bliss lined up for a return on the January 13 edition of Raw. PWInsider is reporting that those plans have been dropped for now. The company has relayed the word to its creative team for putting a hold to the ideas that they came up with indefinitely. As mentioned above, Bliss was due to be back a week prior to this past Monday.
It’s the same episode of Raw on which Penta debuted and outshined his counterparts. Nonetheless, Bliss’ situation may or may not have anything to do with it. In fact, she was set to be a part of the storyline featuring The Wyatt Sicks, as it’d been rumored for weeks.
However, just before the show went on-air, WWE decided to cancel it. Had everything stayed on course, Little Miss Bliss would’ve finally returned to WWE programming for the first time since Royal Rumble 2023. But why did the plans fall through? The aforementioned report notes that there may have been a contractual issue with her.
Many within the company didn’t have a concrete reason as to why it happened. For those hoping that Alexa may directly return at next month’s Royal Rumble PLE, she’s currently not factored into any creative pitches, let alone the women’s Rumble match. If one skims through her recent social media activity, the 33-year-old wrestler has regained her pre-pregnancy shape.
She has endured a rough couple of years. There’s no denying that she and her husband welcomed their baby girl into this world. However, Bliss, while silencing an online troll a while ago, affirmed that she was plagued with skin cancer, preeclampsia, and postpartum issues.
Has the WWE Universe given up on Alexa Bliss’ alter ego version?
As indicated by the aforementioned report, WWE had planned to involve Alexa Bliss with The Wyatt Sicks. And that’s something the fans couldn’t help but dismiss. The erstwhile Goddess of WWE personally loved working with the late Bray Wyatt on-screen.
Her persona underwent drastic transformation in 2020, where she began embracing a dark side of hers. Eventually, The Five Feet of Fury turned into Sister Abigail, with WWE often pushing the envelope in terms of spookiness associated with the character. It really turned the fans off.
As a result, they’re now clamoring for her to revert to the Goddess gimmick that brought her championship glory during her rookie years on the main roster. As far as the Wyatts are concerned, they haven’t appeared on television for weeks. Also, as part of the ongoing transfer window, the Bo Dallas-led group has been moved to SmackDown.
