WWE is infamous for partnering up with various NFL franchises. The company often sends customized championship belts to players and teams for marketing purposes. However, the promotion is now expanding its base and has partnered up with a Premier League club for the first time.
WWE recently announced on its website that it has partnered with Manchester City for an exclusive merchandise collaboration. The new merchandise is already available for purchase on WWEShop, the Manchester City store, and the Fanatics website. Fans can also find the new line in the pop-up CityStore at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester City, expressed her excitement for the launch of this exclusive retail collaboration. She said that the club was constantly looking for new ways to enhance its retail offerings to its fans across the globe. Therefore, collaborations such as this were part of their ongoing strategy.
To celebrate the launch of this first-time deal, WWE Women’s Champion Bayley and Baron Corbin will visit the CityStore in New York City on Friday, June 28th. The store will host an exclusive meet-and-greet with the superstars ahead of that day’s SmackDown emanating from Madison Square Garden. The Premier League trophy will also be available in-store throughout the day.
Which designs will featured in the WWE x Manchester City merchandise collaboration?
This new line of merchandise launched by WWE and Manchester City will include six T-shirts featuring both global brands, such as the CM Punk “Best Team in the Land and All the World” shirts. Other designs will feature superstars such as Roman Reigns, John Cena, and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
Furthermore, Manchester City and WWE have also designed a new football jersey. This jersey will be worn by the Premier League club’s players during games on their pre-season tour of America in the summer. The design features a WWE logo within the number and a red outline around the number. All jerseys will be designed by Puma according to their exclusivity deal with the English club.
The promotional graphic for the announcement comprises a No. 9 jersey for Erling Haaland displaying the aforementioned style. It is unclear if these jerseys would be up for sale, as they do not appear in any store at the moment.
