WWE announces serious injury to Randy Orton after being hospitalized on SmackDown, no timeframe given for his return

One of the biggest stories coming out of this week’s SmackDown is the aftermath of Kevin Owens‘ vicious assault on Randy Orton. An unhinged KO had lost it when he decided to put Orton through a Piledriver. The Viper was writhing in agony as he was stretched out of the arena all the way to a nearby hospital.
WWE has now confirmed that the 14-time World Champion has suffered cervical cord neurapraxia. On top of that, he’d be out of action indefinitely, and no timetable for his return is given. That was the last thing anyone would’ve wanted. It turns out that WWE CCO Triple H was right about warning his longtime rival before picking a fight with whom they call the prizefighter.
Even at Crown Jewel, Kevin put Randy through a table as he drove his elbow into Orton’s heart off an elevated platform. It was kind of miraculous that Orton was able to shrug off its effects and showed up to SmackDown with vengeance on his mind. And the rest is history. Kevin, from inside, feels like he’s been betrayed by The Apex Predator.

Owens’ had a career-long history of failed friendships, which often resulted in him turning his back on everyone he’s ever felt close to. However, things were different this time around. The former Universal Champion seemed to have developed a unique bond with Orton.
But it went south after Kevin beat Cody Rhodes up in a parking lot brawl after Bad Blood. Seeing Owens resort to his evil ways once again, Randy snapped at him. The French-Canadian believed that his mentor-cum-friend had picked a side without knowing where he was coming from. And that was it. They were done being friends.

After putting Randy Orton back on the shelf, Kevin Owens can now make a beeline for Cody Rhodes. The Prizefighter recently ridiculed the Undisputed WWE Champion on X by scoffing at a recent report that conveyed Rhodes’ backstage standing akin to that of John Cena.
Moreover, it added that WWE is over the moon with Cody taking over as the company’s new face. Reacting to it, Owens simply quoted a reply saying, “LOL.” The Canuck has been ticked off at The American Nightmare since the moment he decided to join forces with Roman Reigns for a one-off tag team match.

Owens couldn’t stand the fact that Cody formed an alliance with Reigns, with whom he’s been at loggerheads since the pandemic era. Kevin now has a bone to pick with Rhodes. They might throw down at each other at Survivor Series: WarGames.
