Ahead of the highly-anticipated release of Vince McMahon‘s documentary on Netflix, the maundering has picked up in the past few days. There’s enough brouhaha already on the internet speculating the extent to which the promising docuseries will dove into McMahon’s life. Add more to that. Recently, Conrad Thompson, son-in-law of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, spoke about something he heard of the doc.

Speaking on Konnan‘s Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Thompson claimed that the upcoming documentary is expected to be a burial of McMahon. And what do people backstage in WWE think of it? They’re not happy, said Conrad. However, he didn’t specify the names of those who aren’t elated about the entire situation. Thompson further added that Bill Simmons, the director, is in touch with veteran wrestling journos, David Shoemaker and Dave Meltzer.

At last, Thompson affirmed that it’s going to be “an absolute double shovel burial” of Vince McMahon. Yesterday, Netflix dropped the trailer of its project on the former WWE Chairman. Several names like The Rock, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin could be seen discussing McMahon. The trailer also included an excerpt of several lawsuits that accused Vince of a $3 million hush money cover-up in mid-2022.

Even though the closing moments of the trailer did note that Vince’s been accused of countless depraved and humiliating acts, it didn’t feature the latest allegations against the 79-year-old. Janel Grant‘s lawsuit, quite possibly the most odious one filed on McMahon till date, is the one the viewers are most hooked on.

The creators of the documentary did reach out to Grant for potential involvement in the series. Additionally, it needs to be noted that several of these sit-down interviews were most likely filmed before the horrific allegations came to light.

What does the WWE locker room think of Vince McMahon?

Ever since Vince McMahon was defenestrated from the WWE administration, there hasn’t been a single mention of his name on television. However, that doesn’t mean the locker room is, by any means, oblivious to Vince’s repulsive deeds.

Last Saturday, WWE was in Germany for the Bash in Berlin PLE. During its post-show media scrum, Cody Rhodes was asked whether he believes the locker room is ‘awfully silent’ on the allegations. Rhodes, after a pause, recollected himself to muster up a neutral response.

He affirmed that nobody’s denying what has transpired. However, the superstars are laser-focused on the task at hand, and that’s to perform for the WWE Universe week in and week out. Further, Cody was enquired regarding Janel Grant’s lawsuit and how much he believes in the plaintiff. Rhodes chose not to answer as he wasn’t familiar with the details.
