The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie, made their return to in-ring action at WWE Royal Rumble 2022. The Twin sisters entered the Women’s Royal Rumble 2022 and made an impressive return by taking many of them down. But one other superstar who returned to the ring along with them was the Baddest Women on the Planet Ronda Rousey.
The Bella Twins were happy to see their former friend back in the ring. Here’s what Nikki and Brie said on a recent episode of the Bellas Podcast:
“Being back in with Ronda, Ronda’s thrilling. Ronda, to me, puts you on a whole another level of like, ‘damn, I’m gonna get my butt kicked but I’m so ready for it.’ I mean, it’s just Ronda Rousey. I agree. And I’ll say, like, after I got you [Nikki Bella] out, which was really fun, I didn’t know if I’d ever get my moment again with this because I never know when I’m gonna get the call to come back. And it could never be. It was just too perfect, Nikki. It was too perfect, I’m sorry.” – Sportzwiki
Ronda Rousey and the Bella Twins have quite some history with each other
Nikki and Brie Bella returned to in-ring action following their Royal Rumble appearances back in 2018 and were friends with the Raw Women’s Champion (then), Ronda Rousey. But just before the Evolution pay-per-view, the Bella Twins betrayed Rousey and shocked the world.
The twin sisters then, during an exclusive interview in WWE, said that they returned for Bella-lution: “Brie and I are here for Evolution, but we’re here to remind everyone, even Ronda Rousey, that this is a Bella-lution”. These words from Nikki Bella earned her a Raw Women’s Championship match against Ronda Rousey at Evolution which saw the two former friends battle one-on-one.
