Bobby Lashley retains the WWE Championship as Goldberg sustains an injury at Summerslam

Goldberg and Bobby Lashley battled each other with the WWE Championship on the line at Summerslam where the referee called off the match due to an injury in the knee to Goldberg. The Icon’s son, Gage also came out and was taken out with the Hurt lock.
The match started with Goldberg taking Lashley down with his power and went for a spear early but MVP pulled Lashley out. The Hall of Famer didn’t wait and speared Lashley outside the ring when MVP damaged Goldberg’s knee with a cheap shot. Lashley then delivered a spear to Goldberg.

Lashley then went for the Hurt lock but Goldberg got out of it. Lashley then delivered another spear and then drove him into the ring post. The Icon was barely able to stand due to his knee when the referee called off the match due to an injury. A bizarre ending to a greatly builded up match. After the match, Lashley used a steel chair to damage Goldberg’s knee when Gage came out to his father’s aid. But Lashley applied the Hurt lock on Gage and took him down as well.
