Bret The Hitman Hart is a wrestling legend and played a crucial role in establishing North American wrestling as a global force. The retired Canadian-American professional wrestler recently turned 64. Being a second-generation wrestler, Hart has been one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry.
The Hitman suffered a concussion in 1999 and ultimately announced his retirement officially in 2000, shortly after his departure from WWE. His departure from the company also was a really infamous incident known as the “Montreal Screwjob”.
But he made a surprise return to the company in 2010 where he won his final Championship and even went on to headline the 2010 Summerslam event. He even served as the General Manager of Raw for a brief period of time.
Bret Hart’s career started his career in 1976 when he joined his father Stu Hart’s promotion Stampede Wrestling as a referee. He made his in-ring debut in 1978 and gained immense Championship success in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
CM Punk shares a memory on Bret The Hitman Hart’s birthday
In his long career, Bret The Hitman Hart has had several iconic rivalries. One such rivalry was with former WWE Superstar CM Punk. Hart, known for his technical prowess in the ring, had a dreaded submission – The Sharpshooter.
On the occasion of Hart’s 64th birthday, Punk took to Twitter to share a moment when Hart had locked in a Sharpshooter onto Punk. The Best in the World – CM Punk, acknowledged Hart as “the best ever.”
