“Coming full circle”: Charlotte Flair gets emotional ahead of Wrestlemania 38

Smackdown Women's Champion

Charlotte Flair is having a really exciting 2022. Interestingly, she hasn’t put the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the line in any premium event this year. But in the last couple of months, Flair has defended the title on Smackdown against the likes of Toni Storm and Naomi. Even with no title defenses, the Queen has delivered some really strong performances.

Flair kicked off 2022, with participation in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Usually, Superstars enter the match to earn a title shot, but Flair entered the match while she held the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Her aim was to win and select her own opponent for Wrestlemania main event.

Charlotte Flair scored the highest number of eliminations in the match, but fell short of the win by just one step! She was eliminated by the eventual winner Ronda Rousey. “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” announced that she will be going after Flair for the title at Wrestlemania 38.

Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are all set to collide in the main event of Wrestlemania Saturday. The event will be taking place over two nights at the AT&T Stadium. In a recent appearance on Superstar Crossover with Josh Martinez, Flair mentioned the significance of the venue in her career.

“There’s going to be a lot of emotions, just because it means so much to me. Not even as a performer and like being nervous or what it feels like. But I am like, man, I did it. My career is coming full circle. I won the Raw Women’s Championship, the inaugural championship WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium, and now seven years later, it’s Rousey vs. Flair in the main event. I’ve just been so fortunate,” mentioned the Smackdown Women’s Champion.
