A few months ago, London Mayor Sadiq Khan planted the seeds for hosting WrestleMania in the capital. Responding to him, WWE CCO Triple H stated that they would have a talk soon. That’s exactly what they did at City Hall in Southwark yesterday with WWE President Nick Khan.

The trio met for just over half an hour, and while speaking with Mail Sport, Triple H mentioned that they were working toward the same goal. Moreover, Sadiq Khan also revealed that they chatted with the WWE team and were overwhelmed by the huge number of people who wanted WrestleMania in London. Hunter and Nick Khan gifted him a WWE title replica.

Although they had positive discussions, the year in which WrestleMania will be held is yet to be decided. Hunter stated that there has always been a weather issue in the United Kingdom, but they were hopeful it would turn out well. In his post on X, Sadiq Khan was determined to bring WrestleMania, along with the Super Bowl and NBA, to the country if he were re-elected, which he was.

WWE hosted their most successful WrestleMania in Philadelphia, where many legends like The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker appeared. Next year, WrestleMania will be hosted in Las Vegas, and a future event will be in Indiana. Although there hasn’t been any confirmation yet, if London hosts the biggest WWE event, it will be the first one outside of North America.

Looking back at the success of this year’s wrestlemania

WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia broke all the records in WWE, becoming the most successful one to date. It surpassed the attendance, viewership, and merchandise records set by last year’s WrestleMania. Factors such as The Rock’s return as a heel and his involvement in the biggest storyline played a significant role in its success.

Speaking in detail about the record gates, WrestleMania XL surpassed the previous record set by WrestleMania 39 by 78 percent. A total of 145,298 fans attended the event at Lincoln Financial Field over two nights. Moreover, the viewership rate increased by 41 percent from last year. Merchandise sales were up 20 percent, breaking the previous record set at WrestleMania 39.

WrestleMania XL featured the first-ever ring mat sponsorship with the PRIME Hydration brand. It became the most-viewed WWE event in history, with over 660 million views over two days. The main event saw Cody Rhodes finally complete his story by defeating Roman Reigns with the help of his friends and legends.
