“On the list” Cody Rhodes is almost confirmed for Wrestlemania 38
There’s more evidence that Cody Rhodes will be returning to WWE soon.
While there has been conjecture this week that Cody could return to AEW or lead Tony Khan’s Ring Of Honor, the truth is that the news regarding Cody joining WWE are legitimate, and nothing has altered. Last night on the F4W Board, Dave Meltzer revealed that he had heard Cody was still with WWE as of two days ago.
Cody Rhodes is scheduled for Wrestlemania
Cody Rhodes is slated for WrestleMania, according to Ringside News, which was validated by a long-serving member of the creative staff. “I know what’s set for Cody for Mania, and it’s still on the list,” the person stated. No one has informed us or amended the internal papers if it has changed.”
“As of an hour ago, Cody was still working on internal materials for WrestleMania,” the source continued. There is no word on what he will be performing on the show at this time, but the fact that he has been listed internally for WrestleMania is a strong signal that a deal has been reached.
During The Miz and Edge’s promos a few weeks ago on Raw, there were subliminal Cody references that were teased. The promotions would have had to be authorised ahead of time, and if they didn’t have him signed in, the teases would have been rejected. There’s no news yet on whether he’ll appear on Raw or SmackDown before WrestleMania, but Cody should be on WWE TV soon.
Cody Rhodes had a tremendous chip on his shoulder when he departed WWE in 2016. He went on to become the hottest performer in independent wrestling, wrestling for a number of prominent firms before settling down with AEW. He departed from All Elite Wrestling, which was surprising because he seemed to be a significant component of the project, but according to a report, he was stripped of creative power. If The American Nightmare signs with WWE again, it’s uncertain if he’ll have the same creative freedom.
