One of the major news of the sports entertainment industry is ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes’ departure from AEW. The Former AEW star and three time TNT champion left the company earlier this year after reportedly working some matches without a contract. Cody Rhodes left all his privileges as an EVP in AEW behind, after deciding to sign a contract with WWE in March this year. Thus making his return to WWE after 6 year at this year’s Wrestlemania 38.
Cody Rhodes appeared on the Busted Open Radio this week, and discussed the circumstances and the exact moment he decided to leave the company. According to Cody life is so much more about losing than it is about than winning and that he had already made up his mind.
“The Loews Hotel in Rosemont by the Allstate Arena. I looked at Brandi and I told her,” Rhodes recalled. “The last time I told her something like that is when I told her I was leaving WWE. I had kind of done it all in my mind. I was sitting there at the bar in the corner booth and I knew. I mentioned it on the Raw interview that I did, and I was so excited to do that type of interview, it was an easy decision. It was. After the heaviness and hardness of what that departure meant, the decision was easy in terms of what I needed to do next.”
