Cody Rhodes’ WWE return date revealed?
When it was first reported that Cody Rhodes had left AEW and was planning a return to the WWE, many people viewed it as a huge win for Vince McMahon’s company. Rhodes is said to have signed the dotted line, according to various sources. It’s also possible that his return date has been revealed.
Cody Rhodes might show up at the Raw after Wrestlemania
The most recent word on the subject comes from Fightful Select, which claims that while WWE hasn’t officially announced Rhodes’ agreement, its sources claim to know that the company is acting as if he’ll be joining them shortly. Cody Rhodes is also expected to make his debut on Monday, April 4th, according to reports. That’s the first Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 38’s Night Two, which is frequently a night when wrestlers make unexpected returns.
This cancels the possibility of a huge Wrestlemania match which was rumoured to be between Cody and Seth Rollins. However, this of course doesn’t rule out the possibility of it happening. Wrestlemania is a place where see many superstars returning and the freshest instance of that happening was the return of the Hardy Boyz. There are only two weeks until WrestleMania 38, assuming the rumoured agreement was completed recently. That’s not nearly enough time to set up a match’s feud or reintroduce a wrestler who hasn’t appeared in the company in a long time.
WWE has been heavily teasing Cody Rhodes’ return
WWE is making it clear to fans that Cody Rhodes is coming back, and they look to be taking a page from AEW’s playbook. Cody’s WWE comeback has been teased by the WWE commentary team for a few weeks now, and it appears that the hottest AEW star is certainly on his way home.
There were several Cody Rhodes comparisons on Monday Night Raw last night, as seen on RAW last Monday. Jimmy Smith made a reference to “The Colossus of Rhodes” during Commander Azeez’s entrance earlier in the programme, in addition to Corey Graves’ remarks about Seth Rollins’ WrestleMania hopes being “dashed” and his “dream” becoming a “nightmare.”
If Cody shows up at Raw after Wrestlemania, it’s gonna be iconic but if WWE somehow manages to make him show up at Wrestlemania, it’s surely gonna be a show to be remembered for ages.
