“You bring him and build him”; Diamond Dallas Page is happy how WWE is treating Cody Rhodes.

WWE Hall Of Famer and the former four time WCW Heavyweight Champion, Diamond Dallas page or DDP is happy how WWE is treating Cody Rhodes. Himself an under-rated performer and involved in weird storylines, DDP praised WWE for treating Cody better than his previous run in the company. Cody Rhodes, since his return, has defeated Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania and The Miz at in a recently taped RAW show.

While on the latest edition of The Bro Show, Vince Russo along with Diamond Dallas Page were discussing Cody Rhodes’ current run on the main roster. While Russo was sceptical about his return, DDP on the other hand is very delighted by how WWE has handled the storyline so far.

“I loved that moment where he said “wrestlers”. They’re called superstars – it’s a title, not a belt. To me, we’re wrestlers and superstars – it kind of intermixes. I love what they’re doing with Cody. I love how they brought him in, couldn’t have brought a better guy to work with. The match he had at WrestleMania was amazing. He had a great match with Miz [on RAW]. I know he loved working with both of those guys. It reminds me of working with [Chris] Kanyon. Getting out there, it felt like I was working with a younger version of myself. “

Diamond Dallas Page also added that WWE allowed Cody to add a real life element, which involves Universal Championship, to his promo and that his promo turned out to be a “shoot”

“I like what they’re doing with him and thought that the banter back-and-forth [on RAW] to set up the match worked. They’re building Cody and that’s what they should be [doing]. You don’t bring him in and beat him. You bring him and build him. The promo he cut involving the world title belt? That was a shoot. Fans thought that Dusty had won the title in the [Madison Square] Garden, but they did the old switcheroo. But that’s a real-life moment. That’s when wrestling works the best – when you blur the lines between what’s real and not.”, Diamond Dallas Page Added

What prompted Diamond Dallas Page to legitimize Cody Rhodes’ promo?

Following his stupendous return at the Show OF the Shows, Cody Rhodes gave an emotional promo on Raw involving his father and giving a hint about his future plans in WWE. In his promo Cody stated that he wanted to win a WWE Title, a championship his father could never win in his illustrious career. He later was in a segment with The Miz which ended with both of them having a match where Cody came out victorious.
