“I beg you”: Drew Gulak says in pain after Charlotte Flair locks him in Figure 8
Charlotte Flair
Charlotte flair is one of the most revered superstars in WWE roster who is most definitely a future Hall of Famer. She is one of the few superstars who brings the big match feels in all her matches, thanks to her genetic physical acumen. She proved her mettle this Wrestlemania by defeating Ronda Rousey courtesy of a big boot. However there is a certain section of the WWE universe that feels that she robs other superstars off of their opportunities, however that has not stopped WWE from constantly pushing flair to the spotlight. She is for the WWE, one of the best wrestlers to have ever set foot in the ring.
What happened with Charlotte Flair and Drew Gulak?
On today’s episode of Smackdown we saw that Charlotte Flair was infuriated about the fact that she was booked against a match with Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania Backlash without her consent and she took this complaint to Adam Pearce. She was interrupted by Drew Gulak who started asking Adam about his performance in his first interview for SmackDown.
Flair was disturbed by Drew interrupting her but she offered Drew a chance to have the biggest interview of his life by interviewing her in the ring. This interview now starts in the ring where Drew asks Flair if she was ready for some hard-hitting questions; however she told him to just hold the microphone.
What did Drew ask Charlotte Flair?
Drew started by asking Flair if she was concerned about Rousey’s submission game to which flair said that she never refused to Ronda’s ‘I Quit Match’, it was only that she was protecting rousey. She continued by reminding everyone about how fragile Rousey’s ego is as she was devastated after her loss at Mania. She said Rousey would be crushed if she lost the ‘I Quit Match’.
Drew then pointed out that if the referee had had seen what had happened on their Wrestlemania Match she wouldn’t have been sitting as a champion right now. That Flair did not receive cordially and Charlotte said, “I am the Champion, and I didn’t tap out” and the crowd reciprocated by the chants of “you tapped out” which Flair tried to diminish by her own “What” interjections.
She further went after Gulak by asking him if he stopped being a competitor to ask stupid questions. She added that people like Gulak are used to quitting. She also said that Quitting is not in her DNA,” You want to know what is in my DNA? Winning!”
Flair remarked that Gular wasn’t worthy enough to interview her and told him to get out of her ring. She shooed him away and later she chop blocked him and gave her famous submission maneuver the Figure 8. Despite Drew tapping out she kept the submission and slapped him several times. She made sure he said ‘I Quit’ and then locked in the hold and bridge again until referees came to stop her.
