The 2024 US Presidential elections recently wrapped up with a landslide victory of Donald Trump over Kamala Harris. The world of professional wrestling was heavily involved with the elections. Various superstars and legends advocated for the candidate that they believed in. However, some sources are now exaggerating the matter. They claim that professional wrestling was one of, if not the main reason behind the Republican candidate’s victory.
Recently, a discussion took place on MSNBC news about the aftermath of the US elections. Political commentator Joy Reid joined in on the conversation and said that her generation had grown up watching Hulk Hogan in his prime in WWE. She claimed that these people were directly responsible for Donald Trump coming out on top and that they were fine with electing a “dictator” into the presidential office.
Certain WWE icons like Hogan and The Undertaker were huge endorsers for the Trump campaign leading up to the elections. The 8x WrestleMania main-eventer had appeared at the Republican National Convention a few months earlier. He cut an impassionate promo advocating for the President-elect. Hogan also tore off his shirt to reveal the Trump-Vance T-shirt that he wore underneath.

The Undertaker and Kane also recorded a special video message alongside Trump, encouraging their fans to vote for him. The former POTUS appeared on the Six Feet Under with Mark Callaway podcast, where the Deadman told him that he had made politics fun again.
Wrestling fans shocked after they get blamed for voting Donald Trump into presidential office
The wrestling world was blown away after such remarks were made against them. Professional wrestling is no longer as mainstream as it used to be and definitely does not have the sway to influence a presidential election. As such, some social media users joked that Joy Reid was a hardcore AEW fan and just wanted to put down WWE.
While these claims by Reid were perhaps blown out of proportion, fans did not deny that these endorsements could have significant effects. Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker‘s popularity extends beyond the realm of professional wrestling. The legends certainly have a lot of influence over their fans.
There is truth in it Hulk Hogan was in all of his big rallies and he was in a podcast with the undertaker I am not saying the WWE deserves all the credit I am saying they definitely helped his numbers bringing it to a new audience.

Furthermore, netizens mentioned that the WWE culture is said to be highly Republican in nature. Many higher-ups of the company are huge capitalists and tend to vote for the red side. Furthermore, Vince McMahon had a decades-long friendship with Trump, who has appeared on WWE programming in the past and is even in the Hall of Fame. Linda McMahon has served under his presidency previously, and she was also a huge advocate for the 78-year-old.
