“What are they smoking at this point?”- WWE fans lash out at the company’s reported WrestleMania 41 plans for Logan Paul
If it goes as planned, Logan Paul will compete for a world title at WrestleMania this year. However, the fans aren't sold on this idea.

There’s still over a four-month window until WrestleMania 41. However, the company is making sure to plan out matches at the top of the card well in advance. Having said that, PWInsider is reporting that there have been pitches within the creative circles of WWE to have Logan Paul challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
As of now, it is not set in stone. The Maverick hasn’t wrestled since dropping the US title to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024. After that, he notoriously announced his retirement, which was a ruse. He’s now back as a member of the WWE roster for the Raw brand moving forward.
In a hype video package that was aired this past Monday, Paul seemingly confirmed that he’ll be a full-time WWE Superstar with no more side hustle. The 29-year-old teased coming for the world title during the Raw on Netflix kickoff event at the WWE headquarters. To that, Gunther had an interesting reaction.
Later on in that show, The Ring General addressed Logan’s comments. He first applauded the erstwhile boxer for being the Jack of all trades. Just when it seemed that the Imperium leader was overestimating Paul, Gunther said it’d be his duty to slap that stupid smirk off Logan’s face if he manages to rise up the ranks and challenge him for the gold.
It makes one believe that WWE certainly has Gunther vs. Paul up its sleeve. The only question is when they’d pull the trigger. Is it going to be at WrestleMania? Probably. Gunther hasn’t had a TV match since beating Damian Priest and Finn Balor at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Also, his plans for the Royal Rumble PLE are unclear at this point.
WWE fans deem Logan Paul undeserving for Gunther showdown at WrestleMania
Solely based on the report that’d likely see Logan Paul in a world title match at WrestleMania, the WWE fans are up in arms. They’re absolutely against the idea, as Paul hasn’t done anything to earn such a coveted spot on WWE’s biggest show of the year.
While some argued that Paul’s athleticism coupled with Gunther’s brute strength would complement each other, they’re simply not on board with it going down at Mania. There’s a good chunk of people who want John Cena as Gunther’s WrestleMania opponent.
However, a recent report confirms that The Cenation Leader is likely working Cody Rhodes in Las Vegas. Fans are also arguing that there are far more deserving names on Raw than Logan, including Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, to be pitted against Gunther.
