“He’s a hard-a**,” WWE HOF’er recalls his first ever meeting with Gunther before he roasted Goldberg at Bad Blood
Gunther sparked headlines for his verbal onslaught on Goldberg at Bad Blood. Before the show, he was pleasantly surprised by another legend.

Despite not being booked for a match at Bad Blood, Gunther certainly made his presence felt at the premium live event. He passed on some disparaging comments about Goldberg, who was sitting front row along with his family. The World Heavyweight Champion had earlier bumped into WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson that afternoon. It was Arn who made the move.
The 66-year-old recalled that meeting with Gunther while speaking on his ARN podcast. Anderson told The Ring General that he likes his stuff. It further prompted the WWE HOF’er to tell the Austrian that he’s a cement mixer—a phrase that caught the Imperium boss off guard.
Arn said he wasn’t sure if Gunther caught that reference, but it was a major compliment for the Raw superstar. Getting that kind of validation from someone like Anderson who’s been in this industry since the early 1980s would’ve meant the world to Gunther. And by the way, Arn’s not the only wrestling great who’s high on the erstwhile Walter.
I just went over and introduced myself, and I just said, Hey, I like your stuff man. Whether he knew what a cement mixer was or not I don’t know, but it was meant to mean he’s a hard-a**.

As a matter of fact, The Undertaker is another one of those legends who’ve heaped tons of praise on The Ring General of late. Taker also met Gunther recently and was very fond of the conversation they had backstage. Apart from being an in-ring slogger that he’s been for years, the former NXT UK Champion has stepped up big time in his promos.
That menace was on display when he dissed Goldberg, as mentioned above. Since their heated confrontation, the two are rumored for a match. A report from WrestleVotes implies that they might go at it next month at Survivor Series: WarGames. However, it’s not confirmed by any means.
Gunther looks to overcome a dogged opponent in Cody Rhodes
In what’d serve as a first-time-ever matchup in WWE, Gunther will take on Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. They’ll contest for the one-night exclusive prize that Triple H introduced as the Crown Jewel Championship.

It’d not be a regular feature on WWE programming, as the company doesn’t have any plans to do so. Regardless of this highly polarizing concept, the fans are willing to give it a shot for the two combatants who are going to lock horns. This week on SmackDown, Rhodes cut a promo to hype up his clash with Gunther.
There was a palpable sigh across the arena as those in attendance didn’t seem to care about the girthy Crown Jewel title that was resting on a podium. The American Nightmare has invited his Raw counterpart to SmackDown next Friday in Brooklyn. Maybe that’ll add up to the stakes a bit.
