Cena as The Peacemaker
John Cena is one of the biggest global personalities. He began his career as a bodybuilder but his career gained a massive boost when he switched to professional wrestling. While he debuted for Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Cena was signed by WWE (then known as WWF) in 2001. He has been with the company ever since.
In over two decades with the company, the Leader of Cenation has become the most successful Superstar in the history of the company. He has so far won 16 World Championships in the company, which is a record that he jointly holds with “The Natureboy” Ric Flair. In fact, he was even pushed as the face of the company for nearly a decade.
But over his full-time tenure with the company, John Cena wanted to pursue a career in acting as well. He switched careers and moved to Hollywood. While he starred in several movies like Trainwreck, Bumblebee and Blockers among other, his big year in the industry came in 2021. Cena starred in The Suicide Squad as well as F9: The Fast Sage.
The fans loved John Cena in both his avatars – Jakobn Toretto (F9) and Peacemaker (The Suicide Squad). In fact, he was even given the opportunity to headline his own TV series – The Peacemaker. Directed by James Gunn, the season one finale aired recently and was also renewed for another season. During a Twitter watch party Gunn revealed the scene when John Cena burst into tears.
“In the hospital scene, John Cena broke out in tears when he took Jenn Holland’s [playing the role of Emilia Harcourt] hand and she started crying. The camera wasn’t on him. Probably the most vulnerable moment in Harcourt’s life” – tweeted James Gunn.
John Cena loved Vince McMahon’s interview
WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon recently appeared for an interview with Smackdown commentator Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show. This is unlike something the boss has ever done and it received some rave reviews from the WWE Universe. The interview caught John Cena’s attention as well and he praised McMahon.
“This interview is unlike any other because VinceMcMahon is unlike any other person on this planet. Congrats to Pat McAfee for sharing this moment under the ‘learning tree’ only a select few ever get with your listeners” – tweeted the Leader of Cenation.
