John Cena is undoubtedly one of the best WWE superstars and actors in the world. The wrestling legend is considered one of the most popular and loved superstars in the world. His tremendous achievements have been a proof of his abilities, performances and passion.
Cena recently appeared on the Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take and addressed what he felt about WWE getting huge competition from AEW. The franchise player said that he didn’t like watch AEW but said that the competition was tough and great. Here’s what he said:
“I haven’t watched AEW. I think competition is great, competition brings out the best in us. For all time, going out there as a performer, I wanted to do the best I could possibly do and set the tone for wanting to be the best show between Raw and SmackDown and certainly have eyes on the segments I was on.”
“I was fueled by a sense of internal competition. Not knowing what it’s like now to be in a market with a lot of different options, there are a lot of places to watch sports entertainment. That would only, for me, fuel me even more to be the best I can be”.
When will John Cena return to WWE?
John Cena made a surprising return to WWE at Money in the Bank 2021 and toured with the company for almost a month ending at SummerSlam 2021. There are recently no plans for John Cena to make a return to the company, reason being his busy schedule in the Hollywood. The franchise has confirmed that he is not done with his wrestling career and that he will return to in-ring action again.
