“Still dream about walking down that aisle”: Major update on Rated-R Superstar Edge’s Wrestlemania match
Rated-R Superstar
Edge is one of the most popular professional wrestlers of all time. He was signed by WWE way back in 1997 and he was one of the most loved Superstars. But his career came to a sudden halt when his neck injuries led to the Rated-R Superstar announcing his retirement. While he did continue to make sporadic appearances for the company but never as an in-ring performer.
But he shook the professional wrestling industry when he returned to action at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Since then he has been a regular performer and has featured in some really high-profile feuds against the likes of Randy Orton and the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. In fact, he even won the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match – where he was the first entrant!
There is no doubt that Edge is one of the biggest assets of the company. In addition to winning the second most number of Championships in the history of WWE – the Rated R Superstar commands a massive loyal fan-following. A Superstar of his caliber is bound to show up at Wrestlemania 38, but he is still looking for an opponent.
On the most recent episode of Raw, Edge delivered a heartfelt promo and issued an open challenge for the Showcase of Immortals. It was being widely speculated that the Rated-R Superstar will be going on to challenge AJ Styles. The speculations grew stronger when he mentioned during his promo – “I still dream about walking down that aisle at WrestleMania, soaking in all that energy that you give me so I can be phenomenal.”
But a new report on WrestleVotes suggests that there is still no clarity on the Rated – R Superstar’s opponent. In fact his promo was intentionally kept vague – so as to book any opponent that the creative wishes. Hence, the speculation of seeing him collide against AJ Styles is not a surety.
Edge last teamed up with wife Beth Phoenix
Since the last year, the Rated-R Superstar has been seen in some massive feuds against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. He kicked off 2022 with a feud against the A-lister The Miz. They are two of the biggest Superstars on the WWE roster today. But the company had much more to offer from this feud.
The two Superstars collided in a Mixed Tag Team match. Edge teamed up with his wife Beth Phoenix and The Miz joined hands with Maryse. The Glamazon and the Rated-R Superstar emerged victorious in an epic clash at the Royal Rumble.
