WWE decided to make WrestleMania even bigger by turning its 36th edition into a two-night event. The move worked out well for the company, so they are planning to do the same for their second biggest event, SummerSlam.
WWE has announced that the 2026 edition of SummerSlam will be a two-night event hosted in the city of Minneapolis. The event will take place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Michael Vekich, the chairman of the Minnesota Sports Facility Authority, expressed his excitement to welcome all the WWE fans, staff, and superstars to the stadium.
There was considerable fuss about the location for the upcoming WrestleMania 41. At first, it looked like Minneapolis would be selected as the host city for next year’s Show of Shows, but they recently announced that Las Vegas would be the host. Interestingly, the location for the 2025 edition of SummerSlam hasn’t been disclosed yet.
Recently, the current United States Champion, Logan Paul, announced that Cleveland would host this year’s SummerSlam. WWE will also organize “fan and community events” ahead of the big night, just like they did for WrestleMania. It will be interesting to see how fans react to the announcement of SummerSlam becoming a two-night event.
Fans react to WWE’s announcement of SummerSlam being a two-night event from 2026
The news about SummerSlam being a two-night event in 2026 really took the WWE Universe by storm. While some seemed excited by the idea, others were not quite happy with the changes.

One fan said they gave Minnesota a two-night event just because they were left out as the host city for WrestleMania 41. Another fan stated that only the biggest event, WrestleMania, should last two nights. Here are some of the top reactions from fans:
While some fans were excited about the fact that the women’s matches would get more time, others predicted that, at this rate, WrestleMania would become a three-night event. One user demanded that WWE include NXT matches as well in the two-night extravaganza. Meanwhile others predicted that Brock Lesnar might show up. Overall, the majority of fans were pretty pumped about the huge announcement.
