Quite possibly the biggest night in WWE Television, the WWE Draft 2023 takes place this week. The two-night-long event is set to take place first on Friday Night SmackDown. The second night would be on RAW. And as recent reports suggest, WWE Hall of Famer and former SmackDown General Manager, Teddy Long, is set to make his return on WWE Draft Night One.
The Draft shakes things up for all three brands of WWE. Some SmackDown superstars are drafted to RAW, some RAW superstars might get drafted to SmackDown while some NXT stars may get called up to either of the main rosters. It’s an interesting and exciting event where fans predict which superstar would change brands.
As reported by PWInsider Elite, the 75-year-old Hall of Famer, Teddy Long, is set to make an appearance on Night One of the Draft on SmackDown. It takes place on this Friday Night. It was included in the report that Teddy Long is scheduled to appear in Texas for Friday Night SmackDown. It’s unclear as to what his role will be in the draft. However, it’s safe to assume that he will play a big part in the event.
Teddy Long surely has a strong passion for WWE. After retiring from his role as the SmackDown General Manager, he has made sporadic appearances. Long was inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2017. He remains an iconic figure from the past in WWE. Fans are sure to get excited when they see the Hall of Famer return. It’s unclear right now if he will only be at SmackDown or Raw as well.

Who else is making an appearance on Night One of the draft?
Although not yet confirmed, the NXT tag team, Pretty Deadly, might appear on SmackDown this week. It was also reported by PWInsider Elite that Elton Prince and Kit Wilson are set to make an appearance on Night One of the Draft.
This news comes right after this Tuesday’s “NXT Spring Breakin” event, where Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo beat Pretty Deadly in the first-ever Trunks match. The duo tossed Pretty Deadly into a lake. It seemed like that was the end of their run with the black and gold brand. Pretty Deadly might even be called up to SmackDown. But whether that really ends up happening remains to be seen. Stay tuned for this week’s edition of SmackDown to watch Night One of the Draft!
