AEW delivered one of their best shows of the year last week. The highlight was the much-awaited debut of Rated R superstar Adam “Edge” Copeland. The internet has been buzzing since he debuted in All Elite Wrestling. In all this buzz, Edge revealed the time frame in which he actually made the deal with AEW.
In an interview with CBS Sports, Adam Copeland revealed that he didn’t make any decision to sign with AEW until September 21, when his contract was up. As he said, “It wasn’t until my contract was up on [Sept. 21]. It wasn’t until then.” Furthermore, he revealed that everything was hasty as he prepared his music, entrance, and attire for his grand debut at All Elite Wrestling.
Moreover, Edge revealed, “So it was really, really quick to get everything done and get everything dialed in. Figuring out so many things, like getting with Alter Bridge, getting the music, and doing all of those things, There were nine or 10 days.” Furthermore, Edge stated that his motivation for joining AEW was to work with Christian Cage.
Edge has been referred to as one of the biggest signings by AEW. He made a quick decision to join the promotion after his contract was up with WWE. As he revealed, the last SmackDown in Toronto was the perfect send-off for his character.
Edge sends a heartfelt message to WWE after massive AEW debut
Adam Copeland, a.k.a. Edge, left WWE last month to make a mark on Tony Khan’s promotion. Even though Adam left the company, he didn’t forget to address his WWE fans. Recently, he posted a heartfelt message to thank WWE for his career.

Edge, in his latest X post, wrote, “But first and foremost, I want to address my 25 years with WWE. I love WWE and appreciate everything the company has done for me. Always have, always will. They put me on the map, gave me amazing opportunities, and through hard work on both ends.” Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for his work with the company.
Adam Copeland also thanked WWE for helping him find the love of his life, Beth Phoenix. As he said, “WWE helped me meet the woman I’d start my family with.” Edge is all set to work as a workhorse in AEW. It is going to be interesting to see the future of the Rated R superstar from here on out.
