The hype behind the January 15, 2024, episode of Raw was built around the Jinder Mahal match. Getting in the face of Seth “Freakin” Rollins last week, Mahal was set to challenge him for the World Heavyweight Championship this week. While going into the match, the odds favored Seth’s victory, but neither did the fans want to see ‘hinder Jinder’. Adding to the buildup was also SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.

Nick took on X to bestow his wishes upon Mahal for his match that night in the main event of Raw. He then took a steep turn to laud him and claimed that even he felt ‘Mr. Mahal’ had been overlooked. This message was sent by Aldis three hours before Raw began and offered Jinder an afterthought. Half an hour before the show started, Raw GM Adam Pearce took on X to lend ‘free advice’. It was comprehensive of Pearce’s message to his counterpart, who earlier tried to persuade the 37-year-old star.

Adam took an indirect approach and stated Aldis as a rookie wrestler and GM. He mentioned that the person who does business on social media lacks professional respect. The thought of inviting Mahal over to SmackDown demonstrated Nick’s deficiency in understanding business acumen. To conclude his implicit message, he asked the former NWA Champion not to put his feet into mouth with a ‘tweet’ addition.

With the support of Indus Sher by his side, Mahal entered the match with full preparedness. The shenanigans took Rollins to his limit, as he had to match with three stars at the same time. The threat of Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank also roamed around the bout for a long time. But in the end, the threat was eliminated by Drew McIntyre, which led Seth to retain his title against Jinder.

Nick Aldis’ ‘unprofessional’ message to Jinder Mahal

Before the January 15, 2024, episode of Raw began, a short-lived exchange happened on X. The Raw GM Adam Pearce and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis were the battling entities. Aldis wished luck to Jinder Mahal for his match in the main event of the show later on and put forth the idea of his coming to SmackDown. The SmackDown GM offered Mahal a chance to shift gears and land on the blue brand to feel looked at.

Although he added a pivot stating that he is being unnoticed ‘on Raw’ implicating SmackDown’s supremacy. Aldis stated that the management has changed now with better modifications. Nick concluded that the blue brand is the land of opportunity, and he is always open to ha8ving a conversation. Although he knew little about the title match in which Mahal competed on Raw after then.

"I agree with you Mr. Mahal, you have been overlooked...on Raw. However, management has had a bit of a shake-up in recent months, and I'll think you'll find that SmackDown is the land of opportunity"

Nick took advantage of the hype built around Jinder and saw a chance to bring him to SmackDown. The cold rivalry between these GMs was started by Pearce back in SmackDown when he fined Jey Uso. But now Adam got a chance to get over the SmackDown GM and landed on a great opportunity to silence Aldis with his SmackDown.
