WWE Hall of Famer Sting addressed the fans during the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite. The veteran shockingly announced that he will officially retire from wrestling after the Revolution 2024 pay-per-view. Amidst the promo, he showed his gratitude towards superstars who he worked with during his career. Surprisingly, when Sting mentioned WWE legend Hulk Hogan‘s name, the live Texas crowd erupted in thunderous boos.

Sting realized the displeasing reaction of the crowd and immediately said, “Okay, I hear you, I hear you.” Needless to say, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has played a crucial role in the rise of Sting’s career. Of course, this was when the Vigilante single-handedly fought against the Hulk Hogan-led NWO in the late 1990s. Also, both men would later come across during their TNA runs. Despite his influence in the world of professional wrestling, it seems that many fans don’t like Hogan. Moreover, this is due to his well-documented backstage attitude issues and constant false statements over the years.

Most notably, Hulk Hogan’s political powerplay led to Bret Hart almost exiting the WWE in 1992. All in all, there are several reasons why the current generation of wrestling fans is not fond of the Hulkster. It goes without saying that the 70-year-old has become a controversial figure due to his past actions.

Freddie Prinze Jr. heavily criticizes Hulk Hogan’s Hollywood career

Hulk Hogan had a small stint in acting during the 1990s. He starred in several movies, such as Rocky III, No Holds Barred, and Three Ninjas. However, the Hulkster couldn’t replicate his wrestling success in Hollywood, as he would soon revert back to the former. Recently, popular actor Freddie Prinze Jr. opined on the acting skills of Hulk Hogan.

While speaking on his podcast, Wrestling With Freddie, Prinze Jr. criticized the WWE Hall of Famer’s stint in Hollywood. First, he talked about how Hulk Hogan lied about taking steroids and berated his gimmick. While Freddie appreciated the 70-year-old’s work in Rocky III, he mocked his other movies.

“But then we get to these gems known as No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, Three Ninjas. Suburban Commando—I think that was the one with the speedboat. That was the roughest one to get through. I go to movies wanting to find something to like. I don’t go there looking to hate on these things. This was unwatchable,” Freddie added. Needless to say, the Hollywood star is not a fan of Hulk Hogan’s acting career.
