“He was public enemy number 1,” AEW fans lambasted for pushing Cody Rhodes out from the company
Bully Ray harshly criticized AEW fans for the way they treated Cody Rhodes before his departure from the All Elite Wrestling.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is the top face in WWE right now. He returned to the company in 2022. Before that, he was signed with All Elite Wrestling and performed there for a few years. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray expressed his views on Cody Rhodes’ run in AEW.
During a conversation on Busted Open, Bully Ray opined that it was the fans in AEW who pushed Cody Rhodes away from the company. He went on to say that despite Cody being the top babyface of the company, he received enormous heat from the fans. As a result, it forced him to step away from the company to find a new home in WWE, according to the veteran.

Cody Rhodes was one of the top superstars in All Elite Wrestling during its initial days. He was a profound member of the company. However, later on in his career at AEW, fans demanded a heel turn, which eventually turned fans on the American Nightmare. Bully Ray expressed that fans booing Cody was one of the reasons for his exit from AEW.
The American Nightmare made his grand return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. He has been the top babyface of the company since then, with fans cheering for him at the top of their voices. Although Cody left Tony Khan’s promotion, his time at the company has been a pivotal point in his career.
Cody Rhodes will create history at Survivor Series WarGames 2023
Cody Rhodes is all set to compete in the WarGames match at the Survivor Series. He will be part of the team with Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn against The Judgment Day. After the turbulent ending of this week’s Raw, fans have high hopes for the match. The American Nightmare is all set to achieve a milestone at this year’s Survivor Series.
The tidbit of history is that Cody Rhodes’ father Dusty Rhodes created WarGames and introduced it as a match type in professional wrestling. He later competed in the match as well. Moreover, Cody’s brother, Dustin Rhodes, has also competed in the WarGames match on three different occasions.
With Cody Rhodes competing this year at WarGames, all the members of the Rhodes family would compete in the iconic match. Thus, it will create a unique record for the legacy of the Rhodes family. It is to be noted that both Dusty and Dustin Rhodes were undefeated in the WarGames match.
Cody has a family legacy with the WarGames match. For now, it remains to be seen whether the American Nightmare will be able to keep the family legacy intact. The Rhodes family shares a good amount of history with the WarGames matches. It is going to be interesting to see the path of the American Nightmare heading to the Survivor Series this year.
