AJ Styles was injured by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso in September last year. Since returning after the beatdown, Styles has been on a completely different level. He has cut his ties with his faction, The OC, has become a lone wolf, and is on a path he has never walked before. Recently, Styles made his intentions clear before finally hanging up his boots.
While speaking on AfterWords with Johnjay & Rich the veteran superstar stated he is a 2-time WWE Champion. He added that he wants to hold the gold once again before calling it quit. The last time Styles held the WWE Championship was during the 2017–2018 era. However, he has competed for the World Titles but has come short on his conquest.
Also, he shared his thoughts about costing LA Knight the Elimination Chamber Match. He stated he attacked him because The Megastar cost him his chance to qualify for the highly anticipated match. Moreover, he shared his thoughts about slapping Karl Anderson on a recent episode of SmackDown and wished things had been figured out.
Both Styles and Knight were involved with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Title at Royal Rumble 2024. In their attempt to get a shot at Seth “Freakin” Rollins‘ World Heavyweight Championship, both AJ and LA cost each other the golden opportunity. It is speculated that the rivals will finally settle their score at WrestleMania XL.
Bobby Roode’s dream last match opponent is AJ Styles
Bobby Roode is one of the best wrestlers to make it to WWE from the independent scene. Roode has wrestled in multiple wrestling promotions before coming to the WWE. Roode last competed in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 38. Later in September 2022, it was reported that he was undergoing a procedure and was out of action indefinitely. Since then, he has become a producer.
While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 48-year-old executive expressed how he wanted AJ Styles to be his final opponent. He shared how there is a huge story for the match considering their rivalry in TNA. He added that the last time they shared a moment in a WWE ring was during the Royal Rumble Match. The Phenomenal One entered at the first spot and eliminated Roode, who entered at the fourth spot.
Recently, it was reported that Bobby Roodes has gotten the green light to return to the ring. However, he is happy to be a producer and does not want to make his in-ring return. He has produced multiple matches and segments on WWE weekly shows that have garnered huge appreciation from the WWE Universe.
