AJ Styles is regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers ever to have stepped into the squared circle. Styles was already a big name in the wrestling industry before making his WWE debut and was a prominent figure during his time at the TNA wrestling promotion, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice in his career.

AJ Styles has also managed to have a great WWE career, involving himself in some great storylines, with one of his best feuds of his WWE career coming against John Cena. AJ Styles has been a two-time WWE Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion, and a three-time United States Champion. He has also won the RAW Tag Team Championship once with Omos.

With these achievements, Styles has proved that he is indeed the best in the business and has also inspired many upcoming wrestlers and WWE superstars that we see today. One such WWE Superstar who considers AJ Styles as an inspiration is Carmello Grimes. During an interview with the New York Post, Grimes spoke about his segment with AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson on the October 17th edition of RAW.

The segment involved Grimes persuading The O.C to be his partners for a match at the NXT Show on October 18. The following day, Grimes and O.C defeated The Schism at the NXT. In his chat with the New York Post, Grimes said that AJ Styles has been an inspiration to him since he was a child, and it was cool to be collaborating with OC and the feeling was just indescribable.

“I thought I might be an extra — like a security guard in the arena or something — but to come in and to be featured in a spot with AJ Styles, who I’ve looked up to since I was a child and I emulated a lot of his career early on because he’s just so good.”

AJ Styles has had a decent year up until now, with him being involved in a feud with Edge that involved them in a match at WrestleMania 38 and at WrestleMania Backlash. He hasn’t been successful in clinching any championship this year, fighting for the WWE Championship once at the Elimination Chamber.

Recently, The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, who was once a friend of Styles’, teamed with Liv Morgan to fight against the Judgment Day at Hell in a Cell this year. However, ever since Balor joined the stable, AJ Styles has distanced himself from him, and Balor has been trying to coerce Styles into joining the Judgment Day.

Styles proceeded to give an answer to Balor’s invitation, and Balor thought that the former WWE Champion had accepted his invitation, but Styles instead brought back the OC members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson after a two-year absence from WWE.  Thereafter, they proceeded to attack them and are now scheduled to face The Judgment Day in a six-man tag team match at the Crown Jewel.
