This clash continued into early 2017, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the wrestling world. Recently, The Phenomenal One expressed his desire for a final match against John Cena before their respective retirements.

In a recent interview with the Reality of Wrestling, AJ Styles expressed his eagerness for a final match against the Cenation Leader. The Phenomenal One noted the special chemistry they shared in the ring, describing it as a unique and fun dynamic. Eagerly anticipating another encounter with Cena before retirement, he highlighted the special moments they’ve created in the past.

John Cena and AJ Styles had an awesome rivalry in one of the greatest trilogies of matches. The Phenomenal One, turning heel, attacked the Franchise Player, setting up a Money in the Bank match victory. After defeating Cena at SummerSlam, Styles declared himself the “new face of WWE.” Their showdown at the Royal Rumble was one of the greatest WWE Championship matches of all time. 

I think there’s a lot of us that would like to mix it up with Cena one last time and I’m definitely one of those guys. We had some chemistry that I can’t explain. Maybe it’s opposites attract, I guess you’d say, and me and John are definitely that kind of dance partners where, you know, it was always fun getting in the ring with him. It was always big, it was always special, and it was always great. So I look forward to hopefully, before he retires, jumping in the ring with him one more time.
