AJ Styles has brought back his O.C Stable mates back to the WWE, and now they are set to face The Judgment Day at the Crown Jewel in a six-man tag match. On the October 10 episode of RAW, when Finn Balor assumed AJ Styles had accepted the offer, he introduced his stable mates Anderson and Gallows to them, who then assaulted the Judgment Day. Styles had previously rejected multiple overtures from Balor to join The Judgment Day.
Styles hasn’t really engaged in significant championship competition this year, just participating in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship this year as of now. Styles failed to win the championship at the Elimination Chamber, and the most recent time he fought for a championship in the company was on an edition of RAW, where he fought for the WWE United States Championship against Bobby Lashley but failed to win.
AJ Styles has had feuds with several of the company’s prominent stars, most notably with John Cena, with whom he feuded in 2016, and the feud was rated as one of the best of the year. Styles was also involved in a feud with Jon Moxley in 2016, which culminated at the TLC Premium Live Event. At the event, Styles defended the WWE Championship against Moxley. The Former WWE Champion now has a story to tell regarding his match against Moxley at the event.
During a recent conversation with Corey LaJoie on his Stacking Pennies podcast, AJ Styles recently recalled a humiliating experience when he ripped his pants in a match against Jon Moxley. He was embarrassed that everyone witnessed it, and he was limited to only specific manoeuvres during the battle.
“I was kind of embarrassed that everybody had to see this. I was wrestling Dean Ambrose, now Jon Moxley…. I remember putting Jon through a table and he goes, ‘Oh, your pants are ripped. I was like, ‘Oh, man.’ So throughout the match, I would do certain moves, you could see…. you know, it was really close.”
AJ Styles doesn’t feel that it was a wardrobe malfunction
AJ Styles added in the same interview that he does not consider the awkward incident to be a clothing malfunction because his wardrobe did precisely what it was meant to do when it was sliced by a sharp item. AJ Styles believes it was not a malfunction because it was just sliced open.
The match versus Jon Moxley is widely regarded as one of Styles’ finest contests. Former WWE Superstar James Ellsworth, who was also involved in the feud, cost Moxley the match against Styles at the event.
