This week’s SmackDown was the go-home edition of WrestleMania. With a stacked card, the show was live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It featured WWE’s traditional Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Superstars from every division of WWE entered the fray. However, during the match, Akira Tozawa had bad luck as he landed hard on his neck.
During the closing moments of the match, Ivar had Akira Tozawa above his head. He planned to throw him on the ringside of fellow Alpha Academy member Otis. Due to a silly mistake, Tozawa was thrown out far ahead of the expected place. It led to him having a crash landing right on his neck, which looked horrible.
Fans expressed concern for the superstar all over the internet. The WWE medical staff also checked on the Japanese Superstar afterward. It was a botch made by Ivar, as he was supposed to take care of the spot. Thankfully, it seems there has been no major injury sustained by the former 24/7 Champion. Besides, the Battle Royal was won by Bronson Reed, who last eliminated Ivar to pick up the victory.
Tozawa is one of the most entertaining aspects of the Alpha Academy. His addition to the faction has certainly improved their overall presentation. The Japanese Superstar made headlines on the internet with his famous dance moves in the backstage area. Following SmackDown, the 38-year-old superstar posted a picture of himself to let his fans know that he is fine and healthy.
