Saraya's ex-boyfriend Alberto Del Rio's claims of getting back to WWE prior to Vince McMahon's retirement are counterfeit.

The pro wrestling industry changed drastically when Vince McMahon first retired from WWE in July 2022. Since then, unprecedented developments have happened. That said, former WWE Superstar and AEW Women’s Champion Saraya‘s ex-boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio, recently claimed that he is looking for a WWE return before McMahon’s step-down. Initially, the fans took it with a grain of salt, and that’s exactly how it turned out.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has debunked the claims, if any, that led to one believing that WWE had re-signed or offered Rio a contract. The wrestling reporter posted a screenshot of his conversation with an anonymous WWE source who outright denied Alberto’s statements. When asked whether there’s any truth to the Del Rio situation, the source replied, “No f***ing chance.”
One might believe that it has to do something with Vince McMahon. However, the report didn’t clarify whether the marching orders came directly from the 78-year-old. Under McMahon’s creative control, Alberto did enjoy some glorified success. He even captured the World Heavyweight Championship at one point. However, the title reign was as forgettable as anything. Even after his release from WWE, Del Rio remained in the headlines due to his tumultuous relationship with Saraya fka Paige.
Not to mention their abrupt breakup, which almost shattered the former Divas Champion’s public image. Both Del Rio and Saraya enjoyed some good patches under Vince McMahon’s regime. That could be the reason why Alberto implicitly claimed that he was returning to WWE before McMahon bowed out after post-hush money allegations. As of now, there’s no word on whether WWE under Triple H‘s hierarchy will welcome Del Rio.
How Ari Emanuel astutely stopped Vince McMahon from ruining WWE?
As soon as the report came out stating that Endeavor had knighted Triple H as the supreme commander of WWE Creative, the fans were happy. In recent months, even though Hunter was in charge creatively, Vince McMahon left no stone unturned in putting his fingerprints on the final product.
That often led to last-minute changes in plans, eventually contaminating the backstage atmosphere. However, new revelations are that Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel was the one who saw the mess and decided to hand the keys to Triple H. That leaves Vince McMahon out of direct contact with WWE’s weekly creative process. Not only that, Emanuel recently cited McMahon as the major reason why TKO’s stock fell sharply.
In this week’s Raw and SmackDown, Triple H’s creative influence shone through, offering two of WWE’s best shows in 2023, while Vince McMahon’s decline was evident. Fans were highly impressed with the storyline developments and teasers.
