“So I would love to wrestle…”- Alberto Del Rio names the current WWE Superstars whom he would love to face in a match

Alberto Del Rio was one of the best WWE Superstars during his run in WWE. Alberto Del Rio impressed the WWE Universe with his gimmick and in ring prowess, His larger-than-life character, his entrances into the arena in luxurious automobiles, and his promos were great. Kayfabe during his first World Heavyweight Championship reign is thought to be one of the best in the history of WWE. Del Rio comes from a wrestling background with his father Dos Caras being a mexican heavyweight and uncle Mil Mascaras being one of the most popular luchadores.
Alberto Del Rio made his WWE debut in 2011 and captivated the audiences right from his first day, He instantly impressed everyone when he won the Royal Rumble 2011 but failed to win the big against world heavyweight Champion Edge at WrestleMania 27. Alberto was a part of WWE from 2011-2014, during this tenure he became a 2 time WWE Champion and 2 time World Heavyweight Champion. He returned to the promotion from 2015 and was released in 2016, during this period he became a one time United States Champion.
Alberto Del Rio has faced one of his dream opponents numerous times
Alberto Del Rio had a chat with Sportskeeda this week and mentioned his dream opponents from the WWE’s current lot. He said that he has never had the opportunity of facing Finn Balor as when Balor made debut in WWE he was released. Del Rio said that both of them have a great respect for each other and that now with Balor being one of the top stars of the company, he would definitely wrestle him and that they both would put on a great show.
“One that I never had the opportunity to wrestle against is Finn Balor. He’s one of the best ones in the business. When he was coming in, I was going out of the company. We talked. We didn’t have the opportunity to become friends, but there was always a lot of respect between us even though we never really met before. Now, he is one of the greatest stars in the company and in the world. So I would love to wrestle against him. That would be a hell of a match.”
Alberto continued and talked about his second dream opponent, He revealed it to be none other than “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns. Alberto said that Roman is now a big name in WWE and he has had the opportunity of wrestling against the chief many times in WWE, He continued talking about his match against Roman and said that, Roman was trying to get approval from the fans and that night he got it because he was fighting against a real heel, indicating himself. Alberto said that he was a real heel and didn’t try to be cool like most of the heels do today.
“Roman Reigns is the face of the business these days who I’ve had the opportunity to wrestle many times. I remember that match that, for many people, a lot of people say that it was really good for him because back then, he was still trying to get approval from the hardcore fans. That night, he was against a real heel. Not a heel that tries to be cool like most of the heels these days,”
Alberto Del Rio and Roman Reigns have faced each other on the main rosters numerous times but have faced each other at a live event just once, They both faced each other at survivor series 2015, when they participated in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Both fought each other in the Semi Finals, where Reigns emerged victorious and even won the tournament later by defeating Dean Ambrose.
Alberto Del Rio has been signed with UFC as a Spanish Language Commentator since march 2022. He made his UFC debut on March 19th, at the UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Aspinall event.
