“Being the best of the best”: American Nightmare Cody Rhodes wants to bring back title design
The American Nightmare
After his release request was approved, Rhodes was prominently seen on the independent scene. But a couple of years later, he was revealed to be one of the Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling – the newest promotion on the scene. The company soon went on to become one of the biggest competitors for WWE.
In fact, as AEW’s popularity continued to rise consistently, more and more Superstars jumped ships from WWE to AEW. But WWE scored a massive win, when Cody Rhodes did not renew his contract with AEW and decided to return to WWE. He made a surprise return to the company at the Grandest Stage of Them All – Wrestlemania.
Since his return, Cody Rhodes has been the biggest babyface on RAW. It is only a matter of time before he goes after the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. In fact, during his latest appearance on Corey Graves’ After The Bell, the American Nightmare revealed that when he wins the title, he would like to bring back the winged eagle design for the title.
“Hypothetically, it would be something to do that, achieve the ultimate industry dream, being the best of the best ever, in terms of that moment in time, and then to perhaps give it a fresh coat of paint with the winged eagle, the redundantly named title we are discussing. That would just be something,” mentioned the American Nightmare.
Cody Rhodes recently teamed up with Randy Orton
The latest episode of RAW celebrated the 20 year anniversary of Randy Orton. During the segment, Cody Rhodes came out and hugged The Viper, whom he considers to be a mentor. In fact, there was a time when Rhodes was a part of Orton’s stable – Legacy. But this isn’t all. The WWE Universe got a chance to see them in action too!
In the main event of the Red brand, Rhodes teamed up with RK-Bro and Ezekiel to take on The Usos, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens in an 8-Man Tag Team match. Rhodes’ side emerged victorious with the Legend Killer delivering four back-to-back RKOs.
