“Pretty much everybody Bray Wyatt worked with got destroyed by him and was left for sh*t” – WWE analyst decodes why The Fiend was harmful to his opponents
Wyatt
Before being abruptly fired last summer, Bray Wyatt was one of WWE’s most popular talents. Wyatt, also known as “The Fiend,” was one of the few supernatural characters in WWE to gain a following. Despite his popularity, however, there was a perception among WWE employees that Wyatt was causing more harm to the organization than good.
Recently, rumors came in that WWE plans to make The Judgment Day a supernatural group. Consequently, there was a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio regarding the last time a supernatural gimmick was successful.

Bray Wyatt sold a ton of merchandise but “did more harm than good”
Dave Meltzer claimed that while The Fiend Bray Wyatt was a tremendous merchandise mover, there were some in WWE who believed he harmed babyface characters.
Some in WWE have said that he couldn’t be a huge success because of it, according to Meltzer. Wrestlers like the Miz and Seth Rollins were compelled to turn heel because of how they handled their feuds with Wyatt. As a result, several people thought the gimmick “did more harm than good.”
Meltzer said, “You can make the argument for Bray Wyatt becoming a big star and he was absolutely a huge merchandise seller, but you can also make the argument that he was not a success and I know people there who have made the argument that, ‘Oh, he’s one of the most over guys, he sold a lot of merchandise.’ He was fired for reasons having nothing to do with being over or not over. He was not fired having to do with his gimmick.”
He continued, “The argument against him was that you know, with the exception of Daniel Bryan, pretty much everybody he worked with got destroyed by him and was left for sh*t and had to rebuild and had to turn heel. I mean, granted.
Meltzer further stated, “Miz turning heel was probably going to happen anyway because he wasn’t that great of a babyface, and Seth turning heel, because they absolutely destroyed him as a babyface, that’s absolutely due to the Bray Wyatt thing and the booking of the Bray Wyatt thing. So, there was the argument that he was more harm than good, other than the fact that he sold a lot of merchandise.”
Recently, Bray Wyatt posted cryptic messages on social media about a possible comeback. His asking price has been rumored to be exceedingly high. Now, only time can tell if he would work things out with WWE or move elsewhere.
