Bianca Belair tackled a familiar enemy at Night of Champions this afternoon. In the past few weeks, Asuka made her intentions known against the EST of WWE. She returned on the blue brand post-Backlash to lay out the champ. The Japanese Superstar immediately interrupted Belair’s celebration and blew that poison mist on her face. As a result, a champions match was scheduled between the two in Jeddah.

As expected, these women made a grand entrance inside the Superdome. After the match went underway, Asuka started her mind-games with Belair. The entire story revolved around whether The EST can avoid Asuka’s mist or not. Apart from the obvious shenanigans, the in-ring quality of their match was up to the mark.

There were some awe-inspiring counters from both Asuka & Bianca Belair. Coming from their previous encounter at WrestleMania this year, the expectations were already high. However, not falling into magnitude of the moment, these ladies knew how to put up a banger. Although everyone appreciated the match, no one would’ve thought that the title will change hands.

After battling through natural fatigue, the bout came down to the wire. The absolutely startling ending saw Asuka putting out her mist and applying all over her hands. After that, she artfully rubbed it into Belair’s eyes. And just like that, the Empress of Tomorrow became the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

Based on the match finish, anyone would’ve guessed how shocking it was. Even the live crowd at the Jeddah Superdome thought Bianca will kick-out before Jessica Carr’s 3rd count. However, it’s now said and done. Asuka has ended Belair’s 416-day run as the champ. She’ll now begin her own reign on the blue brand.

And now, it’s time for the Japanese wrestler to show everyone what she’s been holding back for some time. Fans on social media are already campaigning for a massive SummerSlam match against IYO SKY for the newly crowned champ. It would be a dramatic masterclass if happens this August in Detroit.
