The Empress of tomorrow, Asuka recently returned to WWE confronting Becky Lynch on last week’s WWE Raw. She is the longest reigning NXT women’s Champion of all-time having being held the title for a record 564 days. She got called up to the main-roster in 2017. Asuka was the winner of the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble match back in 2018 where she last eliminated Nikki Bella to win the whole thing. She then went on to face Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 34. At the event, Charlotte defeated Asuka forcing her to tap out of the figure 8 leg-lock submission maneuver. With this loss, Asuka’s undefeated streak in WWE got demolished.

Calling upon her Summerslam match from two years ago against Bayley and Sasha Banks, she praised her competitors while talking to TV Guide in an interview translated by Funaki (WWE Japanese Commentator). Sasha Banks and Bayley are great athletes,” Asuka told TV Guide. “[Sasha Banks is] technically great. Every single match with [her] is different so I have to be careful. And Bayley with Sasha, they’re so foolish. [But] remember, I won the NXT’s Women’s Championship from Bayley so I think I can beat her again to regain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.”

She also talked about how she felt when she heard the news of her tag-team partner Kairi Sane getting released from WWE earlier that year in 2020. She said “things were sad” without Kairi. “I was just by myself before Kairi, and when she came to the WWE, I had a powerful partner, inside and outside of the ring,”

As mentioned above, Asuka returned to WWE Raw this past Monday interuppting Becky’s promo. This marked Asuka’s 1st WWE appearance ever since losing her Raw Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 37.

As seemingly confirmed on this week’s Raw, Becky Lynch would be her return feud going forward from now. It is going to be real interesting affair because these non-title singles women’s feuds are a rare thing in WWE nowadays. This surely will bring some eyeballs on TV as fans really appreciated their segment from last week.
