Batista who famously plays Drax in the Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy is former WWE superstar. For anyone who followed WWE during 2002-2010 Batista was a familiar name that appeared on the weekly episodes of the company. Batista throughout his time with the WWE was the World Champion for a total of 6 times which included 4 World heavyweight championship reigns and 2 WWE Championship reigns.

After a successful stint with the WWE Batista left the company in 2010 to pursue a career in acting. Since then the Batista has appeared in several movies famously playing Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy. In 2014 Batista returned to the WWE and won the Royal Rumble match and went on to headline Wrestlemania. Later that year he again left the company only to return in 2018 to face Triple H at the show of shows.

Batista retired in 2019 and was later inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame

Batista was the face of the WWE during his golden years with them and was highly regarded by the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. When Batista was interviewed by Jim Ross on the Ross Report, he shared a an interesting incident involving him and Vince McMahon.

The Former WWE Heavy Weight champion had this to say:

“I pissed him off a lot. I pissed him off to the point where he actually said to me one day, he said, ‘do you know what I want to do to you right now? I want to slap the s–t out of you!’ I couldn’t believe he was saying this to me! I was like, ‘man.’ All I could do was laugh and that made him more pissed. But I think it got to the point where I think Vince knew that I was in it for the right reasons. I think he knew that I wanted to be there and that I was good for the company.”

The former WWE Champion is now retired from the company and enjoys a successful acting career and might not wrestle again ,but he will always be associated with wrestling first.
