Damage CTRL made things personal with Bayley as they laid her out and stood tall to close SmackDown. Now, The Role Model has reacted to the ending of last night’s show and delivered a message to the faction after the brutal beatdown.
Bayley was still suffering from the vicious attack from Iyo Sky and the group, but managed to cut an emotion-filled promo. She stated that they have lost the right to call themselves Damage CTRL because she was the one who created the group. Moreover, she vowed to take down each member one by one and finally take the championship away from Sky.
The 34-year-old competed against her former ally, Dakota Kai, who just returned from an injury. Bayley dominated the match and looked under control. At the end, the rest of Damage CTRL ended up interfering and attacking the former Women’s Champion. As a result, the match ended in a disqualification. However, the faction continued to beat up their former leader. Naomi‘s attempts to save the latter were quickly thwarted as well.
I think they can call themselves the Damage CTRL without the person that brought them, without the person that brought them into WWE. They wouldn't be here without Bayley.Bayley to Damage CTRL after SmackDown
The Role Model recently won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match and will battle Sky for the title at the Show of Shows. She suffered a heartbreaking betrayal by her friends and is now left all alone in her battle. It will be interesting to see whether Bayley dethrones Sky at WrestleMania and successfully destroys the very faction she created.
Bayley never thought her first WrestleMania singles match would be against Iyo Sky
The Role Model Bayley has been a prominent star for almost eight years, but surprisingly, she has never had a singles match at WrestleMania. Her upcoming match against WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky will mark her first ever singles bout at the Show of Shows. Recently, she expressed her opinions about this in an interview.
While speaking with Xfinity Hangouts, Bayley said that she never thought her first singles match would be against Sky. At first, she thought her first singles match at WreslteMania would be against her best friend Sasha Banks, or Bianca Belair. However, it blows her mind to know about the fact that it would be against her former Damage CTRL member.
That is something I never thought would happen. I used to think my first singles match was going to be with Sasha. Then I started thinking maybe it was going to be with Bianca. The fact that it’s IYO is mind-blowing.Bayley on Iyo Sky via Xfinity Hangouts’
The 34-year-old further added that it would be a tough challenge to replicate what the champ does in the ring. She broke kayfabe and praised Sky by saying that it would be an honor for her to take the title from her. Only time will tell whether the veteran becomes a four-time Women’s Champion or not.
