11 years can make a lot of difference. A few would’ve thought Davina Rose, a budding name in the Indies, would go on to become Bayley and the superstar she is today. In her latest venture on X, the 34-year-old quoted a reply to her own post that was made over a decade ago. Back then, Bayley was about to make her NXT debut.

And taking immense pride in the stardom she’s catapulted herself into, The Role Model flaunted that she has finally won a Royal Rumble match. For Bayley, doles weren’t served to her on a silver platter. She toiled hard and morphed into a WrestleMania headliner. There were instances when she felt out of place in WWE. Who could ever forget when the former Hugger was forged into jobbing to The Bella Twins at WrestleMania 37?

She was injured the following year and had to miss The Show of Shows. The birth of Damage CTRL was a renaissance in Bayley’s derailing career. And as of the moment, many fans believe that it’s the most intriguing women’s plot WWE has had in years. Once a supremo of her stable, she was axed by incumbent members and proverbial commander-in-chief, Iyo Sky.

The two, Iyo and Bayley, are now destined to collide at WrestleMania XL. And what a moment it would be for both of them! For The Genius of the Sky, it’s going to be her second consecutive WrestleMania showdown, who at one point almost returned to Japan after leaving WWE. And Bayley could script history if she uproots Sky for the Women’s Championship in her singles debut at The Showcase of the Immortals.

Bayley is primed for a historic outing at WrestleMania XL

The ongoing saga between Bayley and the rest of the Damage CTRL is amiss without Dakota Kai. Though she missed a period after sustaining a knee injury, Kai’s hung in there for the ride. On SmackDown post-Royal Rumble, Dakota was the one who saved Bayley from an Iyo Sky-led onslaught from The Damage CTRL.

Last week, Dakota approached Bayley and asked The Role Model to shield her from Sky and company. Bayley was going through a tsunami of emotions and told Dakota that she couldn’t trust anyone right now.

It would be interesting to see how Kai’s integration into the storyline affects the already-set Bayley vs. Sky showdown at WrestleMania. Dakota’s allegiance could be pivotal to determine who walks out of WrestleMania as the women’s champion.
